Focus and Scope

Epsilon: Jurnal Matematika Murni dan Terapan is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes original research articles in pure and applied mathematics. The journal aims to provide a forum for researchers, academics, and practitioners to disseminate theoretical developments, mathematical methods, computational approaches, and their applications. The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to, the following areas:

1. Mathematical Analysis — real analysis, functional analysis, differential equations, and related fields.
2. Applied Mathematics — mathematical modeling, dynamical systems, optimization, mathematical biology, and related applications.
3. Algebra — algebraic structures, algebraic methods, and their applications.
4. Statistics — statistical theory, statistical modeling, applied statistics, and related methods.
5. Computational Mathematics — numerical analysis, scientific computing, computational methods, and mathematical simulation.
6. Actuarial Mathematics — financial mathematics, risk theory, insurance mathematics, actuarial modeling, survival models, and related actuarial applications.

Peer Review Process

An article that submited to Epsilon: Jurnal Matematika Murni dan Terapan will through the following process

1.  Focus and Scope Evaluation
   The Editor first evaluate all article whether it fit to EPSILON Journal's interest or not. If it does not match, The editor reserve the right return the article to author(s) immediately.
    
2. Plagiarism Screening
   Prior to publication, all accepted manuscripts will be screened for similarity using Turnitin or other appropriate similarity detection software. The overall similarity index should not exceed 20%. Manuscripts exceeding this threshold will be returned to the authors for revision and must meet the required similarity threshold before publication. The similarity report will also be evaluated by the editorial team to identify inappropriate citation practices or potential plagiarism.
   
   
3. Peer Review Issue
   Submissions that meet the minimum criteria are normally passed on to at least 2 experts for review. In rare cases, however, an exceptionally strong manuscript might be accepted after the initial reading.
   EPSILON Journal has a single blind peer-review process in which the reviewers know the names and affiliations of the authors,
   but the authors do not have access to the information about the reviewers.
   
   
4. Reviewers Category
   EPSILON Journal choose a qualified reviewers for looking into manuscripts and they will check an article in which their field.
   
   
5. Final Report
   Referees advise the Editors. The Editors' decision to accept or to reject a manuscript will be sent promptly to the author, with suitably detailed explanations.
   
   
6. Editor Decisions
   The Editors are responsible for the final decision to accept or to reject a given manuscript, and there the process ends.

Publication Frequency

Epsilon: Jurnal Matematika Murni dan Terapan is published biannually, with two issues released each year in June and December.

Open Access Policy

Epsilon: Jurnal Matematika Murni dan terapan provides immediate open access to its content, ensuring that all published articles are freely available to readers worldwide without subscription or access charges. The journal supports the principle that free access to scientific knowledge promotes a greater global exchange of research and scholarly communication.

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration.

Epsilon: Jurnal Matematika Murni dan Terapan is committed to maintaining high standards of publication ethics and to ensuring the integrity of the scientific record. All parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher, are expected to adhere to ethical standards throughout the editorial and publication process. The journal takes reasonable measures to prevent and address publication misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, citation manipulation, duplicate or redundant publication, inappropriate authorship, and undisclosed conflicts of interest

Duties of Authors

1. Reporting Standards

Authors of original research should present an accurate and objective account of the work performed and its significance. Data, methods, results, and relevant information must be reported accurately and sufficiently to enable readers to understand and, where appropriate, reproduce the research. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable.

2. Originality and Plagiarism

Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are original works. When the work, ideas, data, or words of others are used, appropriate citation and acknowledgment must be provided. Plagiarism in any form, including the unattributed use of substantial parts of another work, is considered unethical and unacceptable.

The journal conducts similarity screening in accordance with its editorial policy. Similarity reports are used as an editorial tool and are evaluated in context; a similarity percentage alone does not necessarily constitute evidence of plagiarism.

3. Data Integrity and Reproducibility

Authors are responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the data presented in their manuscripts. Fabrication, falsification, manipulation, or intentional misrepresentation of data is unacceptable. Authors should retain relevant research data and, where appropriate and reasonably possible, make supporting data available for editorial evaluation or scientific verification.

4. Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication

Authors must not submit the same manuscript simultaneously to more than one journal. Manuscripts describing substantially the same research should not be published in more than one primary publication unless legitimate secondary publication is clearly justified, transparently disclosed, appropriately cited, and approved by the journals concerned.

5. Acknowledgment of Sources

Authors must appropriately acknowledge all sources that have contributed to the research. Relevant publications influencing the work should be properly cited. Information obtained privately or through confidential activities, including manuscript reviewing, should not be used without appropriate authorization.

6. Authorship and Contributorship

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant scholarly contributions to the conception, design, execution, analysis, interpretation, or preparation of the manuscript. All individuals who meet the authorship criteria should be listed as authors, while contributors who do not meet the criteria for authorship should be appropriately acknowledged.

The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all listed authors have approved the final manuscript and agreed to its submission and publication.

7. Conflicts of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, personal, professional, or other relationships that could reasonably be perceived as influencing the research, interpretation of results, or publication process. Sources of research funding should also be disclosed where applicable.

8. Fundamental Errors in Published Works

If authors discover a significant error or inaccuracy in their submitted or published work, they should promptly inform the Editor-in-Chief and cooperate with the journal in correcting, revising, or retracting the article when necessary.

9. Complaints and Appeals

Authors have the right to submit a complaint or appeal concerning editorial decisions or the journal's editorial process. Complaints or appeals should be supported by clear reasons and relevant evidence and submitted to the Editor-in-Chief. Appeals will be considered fairly and independently of inappropriate external influence.

Duties of Editors

1. Publication Decisions

Editors are responsible for deciding which submitted manuscripts should be published. Editorial decisions should be based on the manuscript's scientific quality, originality, methodological soundness, clarity, significance, and relevance to the focus and scope of EPSILON: Journal of Pure and Applied Mathematics.

Editorial decisions must not be influenced by commercial interests or inappropriate external pressure.

2. Fair and Impartial Evaluation

Editors evaluate manuscripts based on their scholarly merit without discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnicity, nationality, citizenship, institutional affiliation, or political philosophy of the authors.

3. Confidentiality

Editors and editorial staff must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and must not disclose information about a manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, editorial advisers, or publisher when appropriate.

4. Peer Review Management

Editors are responsible for ensuring that manuscripts requiring peer review are evaluated by appropriately qualified reviewers. Reviewer selection should consider relevant expertise and potential conflicts of interest. The peer-review process should be conducted fairly, objectively, and confidentially in accordance with the journal's stated peer-review policy.

5. Conflicts of Interest

Editors should not make editorial decisions on manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest arising from competitive, collaborative, financial, institutional, personal, or other relationships with the authors or their institutions. Where a conflict exists, responsibility for the manuscript should be transferred to another qualified editor.

6. Research and Publication Misconduct

Editors will take reasonable steps when concerns or allegations arise regarding plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, citation manipulation, duplicate publication, inappropriate authorship, or other forms of research or publication misconduct.

Allegations will be assessed fairly and confidentially, and appropriate actions may be taken regardless of whether the manuscript is under review or has already been published.

Duties of Reviewer

1. Contribution to Editorial Decisions

Peer review assists editors in making editorial decisions and helps authors improve the quality of their manuscripts. Reviewers should provide constructive, scholarly, and relevant evaluations.

2. Promptness

A reviewer who feels unqualified to evaluate a manuscript or is unable to complete the review within the requested period should promptly inform the editor and decline the review.

3. Confidentiality

Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers must not share, discuss, distribute, or use information from the manuscript except as authorized by the editor.

4. Standards of Objectivity

Reviews should be conducted objectively and professionally. Personal criticism of authors is inappropriate. Reviewers should express their assessments clearly and, where appropriate, support their comments with scholarly arguments or references.

5. Acknowledgment of Sources

Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been appropriately cited. Reviewers should also inform the editor of any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under review and other published or submitted work of which they are aware.

6. Conflicts of Interest

Reviewers should decline to review manuscripts when they have financial, institutional, collaborative, personal, competitive, or other conflicts of interest that could compromise or reasonably appear to compromise their objectivity.

Research and Publication Misconduct

Epsilon: Jurnal Matematika Murni dan Terapan does not tolerate research or publication misconduct, including plagiarism, fabrication or falsification of data, citation manipulation, duplicate or redundant publication, inappropriate authorship, or other practices that compromise the integrity of the scientific record.

When suspected misconduct is identified, the editorial team will evaluate the available evidence and may request clarification from the parties concerned. Where necessary, the journal may take appropriate editorial action, including rejection, correction, expression of concern, or retraction of a published article.

Corrections and Retractions

Epsilon: Jurnal Matematika Murni dan Terapan is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record. When significant errors or ethical problems are identified after publication, the journal may issue a correction, revision, expression of concern, or retraction, depending on the nature and severity of the problem.

Corrections and retractions should be clearly identified and linked to the original publication whenever technically possible.

The publisher supports the editorial independence of Epsilon: Jurnal Matematika Murni dan Terapan and is committed to maintaining the integrity, accessibility, and preservation of the journal's scholarly content. The publisher will not interfere with editorial decisions based on inappropriate commercial, institutional, or personal interests.
